I can’t help what I like, so can I blame it on being a Virgo? I’ve always been called picky, but it’s not really picky, I’m just particular about things. Is that so bad? It’s not that I try to be a PITA, I just like things a certain way.
When we bought our camper everyone raised their eyebrow, You? A Camper? Even my husband was surprised when we finally took the plunge to purchase. I am proud to say I Am A Camper, but it’s camping my way, and I’m particular about the places we go, and how we do camping, but it works for our family.
We bought a 2010 Outback Bunk House complete with the outside kitchen (my fav part)
There’s a bunk area for the kids on one end, and our bedroom on the other. Kitchen/Living area and bathroom supplies you with all the comforts of home. Who doesn’t love having their own shower???
The outside kitchen makes everything easy, there’s a sink, stove top, BBQ and fridge, and counter area to make a bar.
The kids and DH love the camper as much as I do. The kids are 7 and 3 and beg to go camping every weekend. I wanted to chronicle our days with the camper including life itself. So, I plan on talking about the kids, DH, work, and anything else that makes me, me! Hope you enjoy the ride with us.

We camp in a vintage Scotty caempr with other vintage caempr enthusiasts from all over the east coast several times a year for the past five years.Packing everything in storage totes. Buy pots/pans/utensils/plates/cups/linens/play clothes etc at yard sales. That way if you break/lose it, it doesn’t matter.Definately have flashlight for each person.{great for a game of flashlight tag at night too} Free samples are great to take camping. I have a whole dresser full that I collect throughout the year. The activity the kids really like our digital camera scavenger hunt . They each have a cheap digital camera and are told to take a picture of one thing that starts with the letter A, one of a B item etc. When we get home, we compare their photos to see who was the most creative in finding each letter of the alphabet. We get some great vacation pics this way and its a good way to remember our camping time. Also, since we camp with usually groups of around 10-15 caemprs, we potluck most meals and always have a wine and cheese party around the campfire for the adults. each person brings a bottle of wine local to their area.
